James R. Helvey III, founder and President of Helvey and Associates spent 17 years on Wall Street, managing global risk for J.P. Morgan and running an international risk management firm. He has extensive trading and financial risk management experience in interest rate, currency, equity, and derivatives markets around the world. As a Managing Director and Vice-Chairman of J.P. Morgan’s Risk Committee, Helvey was responsible for ensuring that the firm’s risk positions were properly understood by the CEO and well managed by the firm’s traders.

Helvey is an experienced entrepreneur, having built and run businesses at J.P. Morgan and outside of the firm. He was the Chairman and CEO of Cygnifi Derivatives Services, with offices in New York, London, and Tokyo, before founding Helvey and Associates. In addition, he has served on the corporate boards of software, media, and consulting companies.
